Spring into Spring: Montgomery County Schools Fitness Challenge

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) and school districts in Montgomery County, PA are pleased to offer this initiative for the employees of our local school districts, the MCIU and career/technology centers. All school employees are invited to accept the challenge to live a healthier lifestyle and help their district earn the title of "Montgomery County Schools Fitness Challenge Winner."
The Fitness Challenge, organized by the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit and the Montco School District Wellness Committee, will include motivation and support to help you meet your goals!
We are pleased to have staff from the 21 public Montgomery County school districts, our career and technical centers and the MCIU participating in this event.
How it Works
- Register for the challenge beginning March 15 by clicking the “Enroll Now” icon below. Make sure you choose your Fitness Level, based on your current activity and goals you set for yourself during the Challenge. You may register at any time before or during the Challenge.
- Begin tracking your physical activity on April 1. You can enter activities for any date at any time by clicking on the “Log my Hours” link. Your activity minutes will be included in your district’s activity total.
- Watch your personal and district’s progress by clicking the “District Status” link.
- Check your email for tips and updates from the Fitness Coordinator.
- At the end of the Challenge, a prize will be awarded to the district with the highest number of hours based on the per person participant average.
There are now 3 fitness levels for you to choose from based on your current level of activity and fitness goals.
"Fitness Jumpstart": Just getting started with a fitness routine or trying to increase your weekly physical activity? This competition tier is for individuals who are currently exercising 2 hours or less a week.
"Getting Fit": If you are currently working out between 2 and 5 hours a week, this level is for you! Motivate yourself to increase your fitness regimen or meet new fitness goals.
"Extreme Challenge": Want to ramp up your workout? This competition tier is for individuals who are currently exercising 3 or more hours a week. Compete with other fitness fanatics and athletes who are committed to a high level of weekly sports or other fitness activities.
**It is recommended that you check with your doctor before beginning a new physical exercise program.
